5 Stress-Less Smoothies

January 04, 2018

I love smoothies! They are a delicious and easy way to recharge your body with energizing vitamins and minerals from nutritional foods.

Most people don’t know this, but you can even use smoothies to calm daily stress.

Specific nutrients and herbs in your smoothies can address stress at its cause and ease its harmful effects.

Here are five Stress-Less Smoothies recipes and an explanation of how they work to support your health and relieve chronic stress.

Simply add the ingredients to a blender and add water (or ice if using fresh fruit) to get your desired consistency.

1. Fruit Smoothie with Herbs

I love this smoothie to fight burnout, tension and stress-related fatigue.

½ banana, cut in chunks
1/3 cup frozen organic strawberries
1/3 cup frozen peaches
1 handful organic spinach or kale
1 cup unsweetened organic yogurt
1 tsp. coconut oil
30 drops passionflower extract (or 2-3 dropperfuls of Stress Daily extract)
water for consistency as desired

2. Grounding Oat Smoothie with Protein Powder

Try this one for extra protein and grounding. It also aids sugar balance, nervous system health, and fitness.

½ banana, cut in chunks
¼ cup dried, organic oats
1 scoop whey protein (or vegetarian protein powder)
1 cup almond milk or water
1 tbsp. almond butter
1 tsp. maca powder (optional if you need more energy)
a few ice cubes if you like it slushy

3. Healthy EFA blend with Fruit

Try this smoothie for EFA’s (essential fatty acids) for brain health and mental energy.

1/3 cup frozen mango
1/3 cup frozen organic berry blend
1 cup hemp milk
1 tbsp. almond butter
1 tbsp. chia seeds (soaked in a little water)
1 tsp. coconut oil
1 tsp. spirulina
water for consistency as desired

4. Peach/Mango Stress Less Smoothie

This is great for enzyme activity, digestion, inflammation relief, and high stress days.

1/3 cup frozen organic peaches
1/3 cup frozen mango
1/4 cup frozen pineapple (chunks)
½ cup orange juice
½ cup almond milk
1 tsp. bee pollen granules (optional if you need more energy)
1 tbsp. chia seeds (soaked in a little water)
water for consistency as desired

5. Vanilla Lavender Banana Blast

Calming lavender and soothing vanilla make this a great smoothie for people under a lot of stress.

½ banana, cut in chunks
1/2 cup frozen organic blueberries
1 cup unsweetened organic yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. dried lavender blossoms (or 2-3 dropperfuls of Calm Mind extract)
a little honey to taste
water for consistency as desired

You can use smoothies any time to combat stress. I like to prepare smoothies in the morning, but they work well at other times of day.

Another good time for a smoothie is an hour before or after a workout.

Many people also use smoothies as a nutritious meal replacement when they’re watching their calorie intake.
