How To Have Unlimited Energy Everyday

Energy is everything. When you are full of energy, don’t you feel like you can take on the world? You feel like you can accomplish anything and be your authentic self. But, when you don’t have energy, everything can feel like a thousand pounds is weighing on your body. Getting up to do what needs to be done ends up feeling like a huge burden, and all you want to do is go back to bed.

Our current way of creating energy is causing burnout and health issues across the board. Too often, we turn to stimulants like caffeine and energy drinks to increase energy when we are running on low. But, what else are we supposed to do?”

I am so happy to be the one to tell you there is another way…

Meet Joe.  Joe is one of those charismatic people who is up to a lot in his life. He has a great business, a loving and successful relationship with his family, a healthy body, AND enjoys playing basketball and snowboarding – his two favorite hobbies Yes, this guy has time for hobbies!

You can’t seem to pinpoint why, but this guy is definitely different for some reason.

Now let’s meet Jack. Jack has a good life, but he is kind of just trudging along. He has lots of interests and would like to spend more time with his family, but he just feels tapped out. In the morning, he crawls to the coffee maker and pulls out his mug that says, “Don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee.” The first 3 cups of coffee work, for a couple of hours. He is flying high and super productive. Then the crash comes. Jack gets tired and he starts the cycle all over again with more coffee. When Jack gets home, he is too tired and fried to be present and play with his kids. He just wants to head to the TV and be left alone. He wants to do better, and be better, but he can’t quite figure out the issue.

While Joe and Jack are fictional, we have all been in these scenarios or know people who are. Let me tell you – you can live a life that is full of energy, vigor, and passion AND have time to include all that you want to do and time for the people you love. But, it is going to take something. It is going to take Cultivating Energy From Within…what I like to call Inner Energy.
Inner Energy is like having a furnace roaring within you that supplies you with unlimited amounts of healthy energy, fueling your life and outlook. Inner Energy is not produced from stimulants but from supporting your engine (body) so that you can function at your best.

Here is how you can begin growing and cultivating your inner energy so you can rock your life. I know first hand because when I focus on the following areas of life…my life rocks!

Diet

We all know that eating healthy is good for you but have you ever looked at food as fuel? Have you ever thought about eating in a way that would create the most energy for your day. This diet will look much different than a diet that is just “eat as you go through your day.”

The Inner Energy Diet has many specifics to using diet and food to create more energy, but here are the main points to remember:

  • Eat 5-6 small meals through the day – This will help to keep your bloodsugar levels balanced, helping you to avoid one more trigger of the body’s stress response system.
  • Eat whole foods only – Processed foods will slow your system down and fill you with empty calories. Who wants to run on empty.
  • Eat a serving of healthy protien each meal
  • Eat healthy fats are important
  • Colorful foods and fruits are important
  • Drink a fresh green juice every day or use a green powder
  • Use superfoods like spirulina, goji powder, aloe vera
  • Reduce the amount of dairy, gluten/wheat and sugar from your diet

If this diet is drastically different from your current diet, choose one thing from the list and create a habit from it. Focus on just one thing for 2 weeks. If I were to pick the one thing for you to start with, it would be the green juice or green powder everyday. Over a two week period of time, your tastebuds will naturally begin to crave and like vegetables. This will be a key to eating more veggies in your day. Plus, you will feel great right away from juicing.

Use Adaptogenic Herbs

With diet, water, and exercise in place, up your energy level using herbs.

There are many different types of herbs you can use to boost your energy levels. There are two main groups – stimulants and adaptogenic herbs.

We are not going to be using stimulant herbs to cultivate inner energy because with regular usage they can stress or deplete the adrenal glands, taxing your system more. This is the opposite of what we want to happen.

For creating long lasting and real inner energy, we want to focus on Adaptogenic herbs.

Adaptogenic herbs are herbs that help to support the various systems of the body. There are many different Adaptogenic herbs – some for energy, some for stress, etc. They are not taxing on the adrenal glands but work by nourishing the adrenals and other systems of the body.

Here are the most effective herbs to help sustain real Inner Energy…

Schisandra – If any herb was considered a workaholic, it would be Schisandra. This herb supports the immune, nervous, and endocrine systems. It is mildly stimulating to the nervous system while also calming the nervous system and relieving anxiety. Schisandra helps to support the part of the immune system that is most affected by stress and anxiety.

Rhodiola – Rhodiola provides many benefits for the nervous system. It is one of the main herbs I work with in my formulas. Rhodiola has been shown to aid not only with stress but also with the immune system, memory, enhances alertness, reduces fatigue, and uplifts mood – all without being overly stimulating.

Maca – Maca helps to enhance your overall energy by nourishing and supporting the endocrine system. This nutrient dense root from South America has been used for centuries for its endurance and energy promoting abilities – and it does all of this without containing caffeine.

Gotu Kola – A great herb to use as a “pick-me-up” to help increase energy and concentration without increasing cortisol or adrenaline levels.

American Ginseng – Supportive of the HPA axis, American Ginseng helps to balance the body and support balanced functions. Supportive to the nervous and immune systems, American Ginseng encourages balanced energy levels, helping one overcome excess activity or an overly-stressed nervous system.

Nettle Seed – We use the seed from the stinging nettle plant to help support the adrenal glands. Nettle seeds are nutrient dense and a must have for helping to recover from adrenal exhaustion or burnout, helping to clear the fog and uplift your outlook.

Drink Plenty of Water

This is another one that we already know we are supposed to be doing for good health, but are you? I know this is one of the areas I struggle with the most, but drinking plenty of water can make a BIG did fence in your energy levels.

This is something else that we already know we should to be doing for good health, but are you? I know this is one of the areas I struggle with the most, but drinking plenty of water can make a BIG difference in your energy levels.

This one little step can make a big difference. The key is to make sure you get enough water. Everyone differs in how much water they will need, but we would shoot for 2-3 quarts to start.
One of the ways that I accomplish a desired goal or ingrain a new habit, is to either create systems of success around it or make it into a game. Getting enough water has always been a struggle for me, but I have found some ways that have worked wonders for me.

Here are some ideas for drinks more water:

  • Get 3 quart jars. Fill with water at top of day. Finish by bedtime
  • Drink 1 quart with lemon upon rising and start the day with a win
  • Add fruit, electrolytes  or flavored stevia to your water
  • Set an alarm in your phone every hour or so to drink water
  • Drink through a straw

I hope you find a way that works for you. I do notice a big difference when I am drinking plenty of water. Remember, if you’re feeling sluggish, groggy, or your head hurts – go and drink some water.

Exercise

Seriously though, it is soooo true. When I started exercising after having my son, I could not believe the difference it made. The more I exercise, the more energy I have. The quickest way to more energy, after diet and water, is through exercise.

It is important to find what you like to do. Or, to make the exercise you need to be doing into a game or create systems around yourself for success. I love lifting weights and going to at least one class a week. I also do some form of cardio 5 times a week (hiking or trail running are my favorite). My husband likes Olympic weightlifting 3 times a week and paddle boarding. Find what works for you and your goals.
Maybe you feel like you don’t have enough time for exercise. Make the time. We all start the day with the same amount of time. Make it work or become a time bender like I am working to become. But, exercise is one of the major keys to becoming a time bender so think about that one!

Sleep

Getting enough rest is super important for your energy levels. This is obvious, but are you getting quality sleep and enough of it?

If you are, then blessings upon you and skip to the next section. But, if you are someone who has trouble falling asleep, a wandering mind when it’s time to go to sleep, or wakes up in the middle of the night then these tips are going to be for you…
Diet, herbs, water, exercise, and sleep – It sounds basic right? But it is not. This is a powerful and totally sustainable way to increase your energy – one that helps to support your body instead of breaking it down. Give it a try for 2 weeks consistently and I will be looking forward to hearing about the shift that happened in your life, and the boundless energy you are now cultivating from within.
